Hi guys want to fit a headunit ad speakers into my car, just wondered if the standard parcel shelf in my corsa 2002 would be good enough for a pair of speaker or wheather i would need a new one as the standard one is pretty thin and would cause alot of vibrations?! if i do need a new shelf can i buy one or would it be easier to make one (this is what i was thinking) any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

I replaced the standard ones, a lot of work involved but woth it, main thing is there not on show this way. Downside is you can only fit 10cm speakers so depends what sound your looking for.

I dont know if he means 6x9's if he is then he will have to use shelf, I put 10cm 2 way pioneers in place of the standard rears in mine. I didnt want speakers on show.

Good thing about getting a stealth shelf made is that the speakers can't be seen! Id recommend that! You could just use the standard shelf but then ppl will b able to see the speakers in ur car and may want to nick them.

yep, i used a standard shelf for my 6x9s but i went to the scrap yard and got another shelf so that i still have one without holes in it to put back in when i eventually sell the car...ooo and the newer shelves are a darker colour than mine too! xxx

i made one from MDF because i have two sets of 6x9's. so they are quite heavy!

Will be ok i got my 6*9's in my shelf and they are fine the shelf is quite strong was fairly tough to cut. just add a bit MDF or simialr to the underneath to give it abit more strenght but im sure it will be ok.
