I've got a new headunit on it's way, I know how to secure the cage, but on other cars I've been able to secure the rear of the head unit too, I think this would be a good idea for a touch screen unit.

The ford ka has a little runner and a clip for the rear of the stereo that slides into place and holds the rear up.

This is what the manual for the stereo shows:-

Seems a bit messy, what's the best solution to secure the stereo?

Thanks,

Anthony

it should have metal prongs around the cage, put the cage in and bend them all back mate

I just put it in with the cage and it was absolutely fine. Im sure most others have to and had no problems.
It seems like you're looking for a solution to a problem which nobody has to be best of my knowledge....:dontknow:

I'll do the prong thing, but I was thining the leverage I'd get at the top of the touch screen would maybe be too much for them, and securing the back would be a good idea, stereo's must have that hole for a reason :D

I know it's russian, I can't read it either.... it's the only install manual I could find for that model...

So we don't need to do this then?

no mate, just put the cage in the slot, bend as many of the prongs down as you can and slide the unit it, itll be grand like that
