Just bought.....

Some vibe 6x9's and am going to put them in sometime this week however....

They are considerably heavier than the ones I currently have.

What do people suggest I do?

Do I reinforce my current parcel shelf.... if so whats the best way to do so?

make a new one out of thick wood :doublethumbs: its really easy - i made a decent one the other day - will get a picture of it if you want to see?

all u need is a tap measure, jigsaw, and a sander thats all i used an of course the wood then use the same shape i used an just take your time but anyway will get a pic up tomoro :)

dno if it helps tia but it helps me a lot im hopefully gunna be making a shelf (well a stealth shelf) does it fit properly no rattles? ever thought of covering it with fabric? do you have it lifting up with the boot open? did you just trace the standard parcel shelf and cut that

lol dont know what the **** im still doin away but........ its does not rattle about at all because
a) i made it so it fits really tightly so it does not move at all
b) used a few strips of velcro to strap it down on the underside
yer have thought about covering it just cant be bothered atm. i just sprayed it black then lacquered it, came out alright but i rushed and it ran abit but do not really notice
best bit of advice i can give is make it to big so it does not fit then use a sander to sand it down loads so it fits snug thats what i did an there is not a single gap :) will get a pic tomoro.
an yer have to lift it up which is gay but in sure you could make something so you do not need to.
i stenciled my old shelf then made it to big an sanded to fit - im really pleased with it and it only took about 1 hour :)
not a clue how to make a shelf one though, i just throw a load of stuff on my rear shelf when ever i park to hind it lol like map random papers etc.
think you cut holds then just mount underneath then fabric over - would be quite easy to do i should imagin.
