Where to place the stereo brain?

Where've you guys put your stereo control box / brain?

I'm thinking on top of the glovebox, is there a better solution?

some stereos mainly pop out screens come in two parts the screen its self (1-2 din) and the electroincs module that ever thing plugs into

best place is behind the glove box somewhere or hide it away in the rear 1/4 if its too big

I put mine above the air pipe box under the glovebox. ;)

Mine is (professionally installed) behind the passenger side rear quarter trim panel. Screwed to metalwork and 100% invisible / out of the way.

Mine won't fit in the area around the glove box, I've put some pics up to give an idea of the size...
I'd like to avoid the boot too, as I use mine for putting all sorts of things that might damage it in.

Is it the aircon that'll be taking up the space behind the dash?

Get it behind that quarter trim. Bags of room in there (assuming you have a 3 door of course!).

Yep, checked the wiring loom, it reaches, took the pplastic doot trim (floor thingie) and tried to get the quarter's trim off, am I nuts or do the seats have to come out?

I ought to be able to answer that as I changed my interior AND swapped my brain over for another one belonging to a slightly different model when my head unit got nicked. Unfortunately, my brain is foggy and I can't remember. It's my age... ;) :D

to get behind the rear trim it's a totally strip out, theres a tutorial on here :thumbs:

i'm placing my eq on the right side of the dash, underneath the indicater stork is theres a little shelf and nothings behing it so i'm putting it there

I recall that mine is screwed into metal work. There's something there that you can drill a small hole into for a self tapper or two. Shame I haven't got a photo...
