View Full Version : Light on dashboard!
Ok I pulled out from a junction today, put my foot down but my car didnt seem to rev anymore than 3k! Looked at my dashboard and theres a light illuminated (it's sort of a spanner with a funny background symbol!) So I pulled over and checked my handbook and it says something about there being an engine or electrical fault and contact Vauxhall immediately, if you see this light.
So im just about to ring vauxhall when I thought I would try the engine one more time and this time the light dissapears and everythings back to normal! I had just been driving down a bumpy track with lots of potholes, just before the light came on, so could I of hit anything underneath my car that would of caused this???
Also should I ring Vauxhall or play it by ear! The car is an 2006 SXI+ so still under warranty if it helps.

under warranty, get vauxhall to fix it!
gone into safe mode by the sounds of it
get it int vauxhall as its under warrenty

get it into vauxhall just to be sure
they will look up the fault codes on the car, chances are itll still be stored

Yeah thats it, was trying to remember what it was called lol!
Guess i'll book it into Vauxhall!

as its under warrenty id take it back to vx
The light is called "the engine management light" which useless means something is wrong from a massive list of things lol
Take it to vauxhall and they should be able to plug in the computer, find the fault and rectify it!
OK rang Vauxhall today and they said, seen as the light went out dont bring it in! They said sometimes it can give a false reading in the electrics, it's only when the light stays on and wont go out, that you should worry!
Gonna be keeping an eye on that light now!

the light with the spanner isnt the engine management light, the em light is the one shaped like an engine on the right of the speedo

wen am driving my car i get an orange light that comes on wen driving looked in the manuel and it says engine electronics is this the same thing took the car to a garage and they pluged in a snap on machine and could not find a problem
