Hi folks,
I've just bought some Alpine Type R 17" front components. I want to fit them in the door so that you can see them (e.g. not hiding behind the grille). What is the best way to do this, and anyone else got these and got some pics? Also, anyone else done this (even with different speakers)?
Any help is greatly appreciated
Cheers,
Sam
i remember chewy cuttin the circular grill outta his door cards so the speakers were shown, prob best to ask him how he did it
You aint got any choice with type-R's mate, they don't fit standard, and the adapter brackets with them don't fit either. Only way is to bring them forward.

do you mean they dont fit as in infront of the door card grill or behind the door card
my ice dealer fitted my type r's just fine behind the door cards with the corsa b adapter, dynamatted and with the crossover in the door card aswell with no problems

Hmm I'm stuck between type R and going crazy and get typ x :(, do they fit behind the doorpanel or do you have to hack it to bits?
Well the Type-S was a tight fit with Astravan adapters as the B's didn't fit. The R's are bigger magnets and therefore should be tighter I would imagine. If you have them in then well done, but are they fitted tight enough? AS for the X well.......

time to go the scrappy and rob a few doorcards LOL
Not too sure on the x's yet wanna do something different and dont really wanna lose my boot to a sub.. so im guessing stupidly powerful components should do me.... Just.. Might do something custom with an 8" in the boot.

I've got them in front of the standard grilles, and they do look very nice, but I had to shave a bit off that "pocket" storage thing, so I am finding a way to sort that out now...
I've amped them up with an alpine MRP-T220 2 channel amp and they are bloody loud!! :D
