Hi all,

I've been hovering around the site now for a while, but haven't posted as I feel a bit like an old fogey (hey I'm almost 30!) and not into all this ICE and bodykit malarkey.

What I do like to do tho is make lots of 'invisible' mods to the car to enhance my driving comfort. I've got a 1.2 comfort, so it's got the main toys I need, but I do a lot of miles in it so I'm making it as comfy as possible!

So far I've changed my dial mats, switched the nasty plastic wheel for an SXI and am in the middle of fitting the front foglights. I've also got a cheap 7" Monitor and (after trying 2 crappy chinese headunits from ebay) I've got a JVC DV7301 DVD HU coming soon.

I've also done some mods that I can't find any other references to on this site, so I'll post the info if people are interested. The 3 other mods I've done are:

1) Reversing camera. Mounted on the rear bumper in the black strip (on the basis that this is easy to replace than the main bumper and it's the point that sticks out furthest). It's wired to the monitor at the front.
2) Auto-dimming mirror. From ebay (£30) for a Vectra 'C', it had to be wired into the front light unit and the reverse wire for the monitor.
3) Automatic Headlight switch. This is the mod I'm most chuffed with!! Bought a kit from maplins for £5.49 and with a couple of hours effort my headlights now come on automatically when it gets dark (and unlike this function on the vectra it is fully adjustable). I've not got it wired to the sidelights, just the headlights, and it's all or nothing (i.e. you can't switch them off once it gets dark enough), but I think that's how it works on the Veccy anyway!

If any peeps want more info on those 3 then let me know and I'll post a tutorial.

might as well add tutorials on whatevers not in the tutorial section already people uually find them helpfull

i've got a 5dr nocturno blue 1.2 comfort i went for more of the visual mods eg dorr hadle colourcode sxi wheels and getting an sxi backbox due to mine being rusty, i'd suggest maybe new seats if you want more comfort tho the corsa seats arnt bad. Audi tt seats are a straight swap or there are half leather corsa seats you can get

Seats are next on my list!! I've been looking on ebay for various sets, I like the idea of SXi seats for the better bolster support. The SXi+ leather sets go for £300ish on ebay, which is more than I can afford really. I'm trying to get a set of Astra G seats really, used to have a SRi and that had comfy seats.

I think its AZ ( think thats his username) that has done alot of mods similar to what you are after. Upgrading but keeping the standard theme.
