Ok, picked the SRi up today and have only just noticed that none of the indicators on the passenger side work!

They don't work if hazards are on, they don't work as indicators and they don't work when the car locks/alarms.

Surely all 3 bulbs can't have gone at the same time?

Any help, much appreciated.

Fuse or relay? :dontknow:

Doris

Wouldn't both sides be gone if the fuse or relay had gone? :?

I dont know. I do know indicator relays can get faulty, i have a fault code for mine and apparantly its quite common.

Hmm ok ive just had a look in my haynes manual and it looks like both sides of the indicators work off one fuse and one relay.

Bulbs blown?

Apart from that im out of ideas lol

Just seems odd that all bulbs could blow at the same time........:?

I had the same problem a few weeks ago,the drivers side indicators worked fine, but the
passenger side did not work,
it was the relay, I got one from the scarp yard(it was a sunday and the main dealers was shut) it cost nothing, said I could have it,
this is where it is on the facelift model(its two relays inside one box)

My fusebox looks nothing like that and I canny see a relay that looks like that, they're all squares. :?

Anywho thanks for your help, narrows the problem search down, Vxl will know which relay it is when I take it in tomorrow. Are relays covered under warranty?

yep defo that first yellow relay in the fuse box, as mine went the other week, i got a quote from vx of at least 50 quid for half an hours labour to look at it.

so i bought the relay for a tenner from a shop called autovaux near were i live and did it myself.

I don't have that relay. They are all square not rectangular.

Hmmmmmmmm, is the indicator relay yellow? I think only one is yellow the rest are grey and black. Narrows it down a bit more.

i thought that aswel but in the picture the rubber ribbed tube going into the engine bay connects into a bigger fuse box wer all my fuses are, its not in that 1 its in the under the black plastic cover above the ribbed tube like in the picture.

Next to the battery

u get me lol?

The main fusebox? I have opened the main fusebox, big square next to battery and that has loads of fuses and a few square relays but that's it.

Doris

So if I unscrew and remove the 'main' fusebox there should be one underneath?

Relay is in a 'box' held in with screws and set back from the 'main fusebox'. The relay itself is a big, yellow rectangle. You can't miss it.

Relay is not in the fusebox (white thing) but in the box to the right of the battery (red wires in photo).

okay cheers for that guys, where can i get hold of a replacement relay, breakers or anywhere else cheap??

Doris
28-08-2007, 11:16
As said, take it to Vxl and have it done under warranty at NO cost.

If you decide you still want to pay for it I think Vxl charge a £10-15 for a relay.......:|

is the car still under warranty, i think it was officially registered 31st december 2004?
Thanks

Doris

Yes, so add 3 years to that. ;) :doublethumbs:

My car was registered 29 September 2004 and like said, I had mine replaced under warranty a week or so ago.
