This (http://www.mini-itx.com/reviews/pico-itx/default.asp?page=1) in the glovebox, + a 6.5 / 7 inch LCD touchscreen (maybe one of martins sexeh jobbies)? it seem's to be efficient enough to not overheat in such a confined space, the only limiting thing i can really see is the onboard sound. perhaps a nice external soundcard or something? potential project i think. what do you reckon?

u still need to hook up hard drives and cd drives to it which will take space.

yes, but that board is less than 10cm square, i could use a 2.5inch laptop drive, and im sure they do slimline CD drives. if not, then i could possibly go without one, just put all my media on the HDD.

To save on space in the glovebox you could use a 2.5" HDD and if you have room under the screen you could try using a slot loading laptop cd/dvd drive

ahh, cool cool. later on im going to measure up the glovebox, and see what size it is. im still leaning towards the Pico-ITX board, just because of it's miniscule size. i'll either run WinXP MCE or some flavour of linux - im in favour of a light distro of linux at the moment, and have Amarok for music and i believe its MPlayer for video's on Linux. i'll probably try XP first though, and install linux if i find XP to be too laggy :)
use a Linux distribution mate. Purely for the on screen widgets. You can get awesome ones for playing music and stuff. Especially with a touch screen.

full setups are ok, but i would rather do it myself - and those are a hell of a lot bigger than the Pico-ITX form factor!

in the process of doing this myself. should hopefully have it finished for trax. as for the running of it, i would reccommend something like centrafuse or the likes.
