well i've started a few threads lately about getting some new front components... now atm i have a set of good vibe comps on the parcel shelf (tweeters are in my garage) and i have fusion comps in the front that i am taking out!
basically i was just wondering if i would be better off putting the vibe comps and tweeters into the front of the car and amping them and then just buying a good quality set of co-axials for the rear???? any ideas of pro's and con's?? and also could i use the vibe comps and tweeters with the fusion crossovers?? i'm really confused atm lol

putting coaxials in the rear makes sense, as there isnt real need for clarity back there, just a bit of extra sound. u could use the xovers from the fusions with the vibe speakers, but surely theyd be better set up with the correct speakers as the xovers seperate the sound frequencies to the tweeter and woofer, and the speakers would be different so the xovers wouldnt be suited to the different speakers. if that makes sense

yeah i thought that lol but if you look at where my fusion xovers are mounted...... and the vibe xovers are small round ones..... perhaps i should leave the fusion one there for the time being and just let them do nothing and wire in the vibe xovers behind the doorcards?? i dunno lol but i saw some good co-axials at a good price so thought that would be the best idea!

The cross-overs will work, but nowhere near as well as the ones supplied with the actual set. They may even cause irreparable damage to the tweeters.
I'd throw the fusion and vibe speakers in the bin and go for manufacturers with a good reputation for making components. But we don't know your budget so who knows?

well the vibes i have are actually quite impressive but i have a budget of about 70 quid but that has to include postage lol any ideas as to what co-axial??? i was thinking about infinity reference's as samisnake recommends em!

do you have a link for the exact ones?? are they 16.5cm co-axials??

na theyre the reference components i gave u the link for in ur other thread. the reference xovers are rectangular so should cover up where the fusion xovers are now. then ull also have the vibe comps in the rear. just do that. ull be buying decent comps instead of buying coaxials.

ya reckon it'll sound better?? that auction ended before i could buy em lol and i'm not sure exactly which ones they are. i've looked in quite a few places tho and they do seem to be the best option! would you be so kind as to re-link me to ones i could buy now?
