ive brought a car dock that transmits it to a radio station on ur stereo.
im hopin it works. I know that its illegal and all that but it only transmits a few feet so it aint like im setting up my own radio station or anything.
I only have the standard sri stereo in my corsa, cant really put anything decent in because it will just get knicked so i thaught using my ipod would be a good idea!
got loadsa music on there anyway
^^ There is a legal version of it out now mate..
Saw it in the Mac mag i get :P

really??
Ive brought the podgear cardock fm. charges the ipod and transmits at the same time. Looks quite good just hope it works, ive seen varied reports about them.
A direct connection to the stereo would be the best option but im not the kind of person that messes around with things like that. i just want to plug it in and make it work.. simple . . .
You wouldnt believe that i was a computer techi :s
^^ I have no reason to lie so YEP really :P :D
OH and no i wouldnt believe it  (JOKE)

I heard that the sound quality isnt that good, i know its ment to be of FM quality (even tho thats not too great anyway), but a mate has one and its realy not that good, put me off. When u get urs connected, let me know what it sounds like, it may just be that my mate had a bad one!!

ok, well it would have been here if someone was here to sign for it !! pfft!
well i'll nip to the post office tomorrow on my way to work and pick it up!
I have got my ipod connected to my stereo :)
I bought this : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=14932&item=5760468 269&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
It plugs into my cd changed socket and creates it into a Aux in thing... Then bought this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32833&item=5760619 293&rd=1
And then it plugs into my ipod... I have managed to feed the wire behind the headunit down by the ciggy lighter where Vx connect up to your car... and my ipod sits nicely in there :)
No need for cds! Good quality as well!
Hope this helps.. You might be able to get this sort of thing for your headunit, just have a search on ebay!
Jim :)

Yes it was for a Kenwood...
I don't think you could get one for the standard... could be wrong though...

for pioneer head units you can get a thing which connects the ipod to your head unit and allows you to control the functions of the ipod with your head units controls

I heard that its really difficult to find a station where there was no interferiance. but i live and work in the centre of Birmingham so there is a lot of radio stations around. I use 88.1 (because it was the first one i tried) and it is really great . .
to be honest i cant fault it at all. i would definatly recomend getting one . . . .

16-03-2005, 11:46
yeh, an ipod is an mp3 player, you can get them up to about 60gig now which is about 20,000 songs i think.

ebay mate,
here is a link.
http://search.ebay.co.uk/podgear-fm_W0QQfkrZ1QQfltZ9
they do an fm version and a non-fm version. the non-fm version just holds and charges the ipod but the fm version transmits from your ipod to your stereo
Wont it get hit my the gear stick ??

Wont it get hit my the gear stick ??
erm . . . i think i kinda get it????
but if you meant . . wont it get in the way of the gear stick - nope!
thats what i thaught, it comes close but there is plenty of room if you get it setup in the right position. there is also an extension arm that comes with it so you can have it higher if you want.
I prefer mine down there tho i think. dunno, might have a fiddle with it when i get more time[/quote]

is there no where which sells em cheaper than bout £45 cuz thats well expensive!!!
Jamin100
17-03-2005, 14:49
i paid 30 for mine, but it was 2nd hand,
the cheapest ive seen them for is £47.50 with delivery and thats on ebay. i suppose if you keep looking you could find a 2nd hand one cheaper.
I was looking everyday for about 2 weeks for the one i had.
definatly worth the money tho!

Looks Gud :)
I got the alpine ipod interface last week, works a treat and only £60, only drawback is the scrolling is not as fast as on the ipod itself. Still 4000 songs in ur glovebox cant complain.
^^ £60 - where did you manage to find it for that price mate??
got it in my local alpine ice dealer, probably did it cheap cos i was spending a grand on ice from them, lol.
^^ - that would explain the price ;)
