I think people that dont like MINIs should drive one first and then see if they still dont like them ;).

I worked at a dealer in the parts dept. for three years before returning to VX, so I have sold more than one Aero kit and loads of spot lamp kits. The Aero kit (I had one on my second Cooper) and the spots are both MINI accessories, not JCW.

Had a look on the MINI site. It would appear the Aero kit for the brand new shape MINI is a JCW accessory. The older shape ('01-'07) is classed as a MINI accessory, as I said.

granted they arent the cheapest car but you get peace of mind- things like 5 years free servicing, plus when my mums brakes needed replacing (not just discs and pads, cant remember the name) the bill ended up at £500ish i think, but BMW picked up £350 of the bill because it hadnt done so many miles, so even when its out of warranty you still get good service- essay over:lol:

yep twice at york bud :D. and there a part of a industrail estate aswell which is liek a 1/4 mile :D. mini cooper s drivers these day:lol: think they own the road. i rather have a tubro then a superchager :D. on country side roads then it all about how u drive isnt it :). not the car cause u got to be gutsy to go round corners as its hard. plsu i learn to use the left foot to brake aswell. so one day i can woop one easy pesy :D

Yes the Mini is 150-200ish kgs more heavier than the Corsa but its not always power and weight. You also need to consider gearing, torque and where the power actually is.

I'm sorry but whether the styling is to your tastes or not the Mini Cooper S is a brilliant car, it handles well (better than cars with 3x the price tag) goes like stink and tuning options are endless. I personally wouldnt have one just because they are quite small and quite expensive for what they are. But if you say "they are crap" then you clearly dont know a lot about cars and how they handle and perform.

Please note: This only includes the Cooper S. The other models couldnt pull the skin off a rice pudding and even my Lardy German barge of a car can widdle all over a Cooper on a tight track.

well said...i couldnt agree more, ive got the cooper and very disapointed with especialy the speed. Bein 115 bhp i thought it would be quite powerful, but my old 106 1.1 seemd faster.

Jus buyin time until im a little older to get a more powerful car lol, toss between cooper s and 1.8 audi TT

Couldn't be more true mate, yes they carry a heavy price tag but this is more due to "everyone wants one" the MINI is really like no other car in having such a cult following, look at the options you get when you buy one...

They are one of the best handling FWD cars to date, one of the only demissions is that they will understeer when nailing it in 1st and 2nd.

But... all cars (even AWD/RWD) are steup by the manufacturer to understeer rather than oversteer as for the novice driver it is much easier to control. I will be fitting KW V2 Coilovers and a Eibach uprated rear ARB to give my car neturel handling.

After that I'll prob look at boosting my car from 230ish bhp upto 250ish with a GTT manifold and possibly large TB.

IMO they are really fun cars to drive, the way you can take bends in them (even as standard) is astonishing and just makes you smile so much, steering is really positive and the ride is not too hard but hard enough to give you a proper feeling of the road.
