ok backseats are out, and ive just fitted my leda racespec coilovers. i found this sweet mechanic local who seems to know what hes doing. he spent a week setting it up until he thought it was handling as well as it could.
Lowereing it and adjusting the dampening setting.
therer arer 24 click settings that are changed by a litle nob in each strut which basically changes the rebound force. its easy . a motorway day and you can soften them right off. then when u wanna do a track day you sharpen them right up so they are super hard!.
its on 12 at the froun aqnd 18 at the rear.
its a bumpy ride beacuse there isno wight int he back but best for handling..
and it goes round corneres even better than before its crazy.
18s are nice but ive lost a bit of precisnes i had with the 17s so think im gonna change back eventually.... we wil see.
the thing is the mini suspention is set soft.. because bmw are so enthusiatic about these horrble runflats... so when ypou change to no rubflats on minis and bmw for the matter it ruins the handling.. to to compensate you have to harden the suspention...
when u put the 18s on i was rerally piised of beacuse the handling was crap.. it wobbleed and rolled. with the coilovers its a totally different car. much beter than it was standard. however its a bit more of a challenge. when you are on the limits of grip its sems to just suddenly let go ratther than gradually leeting go and giving you time to react.
here are some pics.. gimmie some feedbak.
