hey peeps, i'm going to go ahead and order up one of these kits from ebay for my car but just a few questions about them;

* do the automatically level like factory fitted xenons so as not to blind other motorists?

* is 6000k any good or should i go higher? i'm looking for a crisp white light with not too much blue

* once they are fitted do you have to go and get them realigned?

i put HID's in my corsa and for question 1 yes they did

8000k is bright white with a hint of blue as im aware of its legal limit, 6000k will be white but not as bright as the 8000k

and finally no i didnt have to

the lower the temp the brighter they are, the higher the temp, the more blue/purple they are, at a sacrifice for brightness

the lower the K the brighter they are - rightest being 4300k but these will be slightly yellow, the higher colour temp(K rating) the bluer-purple they get - 6000k is good to bright and white but very little blue at all. 8000k have a hint of blue and VERY crisp white. There is a thread on CCUK with pics of peoples HIDs - that should help in your decision :thumbs:

10,000k is the legal limit - they are almost purple in colour!

sorry to steal your thread, but would it better better to get 8K HIDS with facelift lights or angels? I would get smoked facelifts but i dont fancy doing it myself, and they are not common....(i see some for sale now but i dont have money right now)

what temp is on a par with the standard xenon colour?

8000k would be my preffered choice - they are very noticable from 'normal' headlights and look cool but still very bright :thumbs:

so just to clarify, should they really be realigned but a lot of people don't bother? want to make sure before i install them

I didnt bother and they dont seem to blind people so just have to wait for the MOT.

Considering they are only £40 you might aswel get the xenons.

i took the motors out of my original headlamps and put them in my angels (i got told it wouldnt pass an mot as HID rules have now changed apparently)

6000k has also supposed to be better visions somehow, a clearer white light is given off, were as the 8000k is practically a blue look

and yes you will need to get them alligned, i put mine up to the garage door and marked were the original lights were, then tried alligning myself when i fitted the hids, i thought i got it perfect, but when i got them alligned, i got told they were way out. only cost £10 aswell (backhander job from renault though)

i got my hids direct from Rimstyle, they cost £165 but you get a full 12month warrenty with that. for that price i got 2ballasts,2hid lamps, and the wiring bits, took about 1hour to fit
