Help with H/U

Well this makes no sense, wired in an Alpine H/U in my brothers Golf and it's not working at all, i've even tried it with the same wiring harness in my car and it works fine, also plugged in a different H/U to the Golf and it works fine, so i have no idea why the Alpine won't work in the Golf at all... Even the airbag light is now coming on which is weird.

Any ideas guys?

could be a weak live wire, the same kinda thing happened in my mates corsa b
