View Full Version : HIDs and Angel Eyes | Who's got them? || Easy to fit?
As above people how hard is it to fit HIDS in Angel eyes?
Is the visibility as good as facelifts with HIDS?
Help/
ive got hids with angels mate, to fit the actual hids to them its a relativly easy job, youve got to drill a hole in the back of the light, slide your new hid bulb, put the ballasts in a suitable place and connect it up which is easy. to fit mine it took about 1hour - 1hour 30mins.
hardest part was taking the bumper off to put the angles in. its not realy hard to do any of this aslong as you follow the turitals., just more time consuming.
and for visabiltiy, if im completely honest with u, ive got 8000k hids, they look the muts nuts, but i think there ****e at night, they give a clear light off but its only a short distance light and not very widespread.
pm me if youve got any other questions
Anyone?
Got the eyes now, where is the cheapest and best place to get 8k HID from?

Not as easy as that. In both angel eye units i have fitted HID's in, the bulbs do not fit straight in. The hole is not big enough.
What you need to do is get a small round file, turn the light upside down (as to not get loads of metal shavings inside the light), and just gently and slowly file down the metal holder for the bulb to widen it slightly. The bulb will then slot in easily.
As for HID kits, ive got the HID's direct one from eBay and its awesome :D

Coops tell me the visibility is good with HID and angels?
IIRC, its a lot better than with standard bulbs, but still not brilliant.
if you go 6k you cna get them for £40 fromt he bay.

Hmm i wanted 8k for the brightness?
linky?
Yeah they are fantastic, i love mine. (8k)
6k are actually brighter than 8k, but 8k are more blue. However the difference in brightness only a few inches more vision, nothing noticable.
I say get 8k, and get the HID direct kit

They dont seem to have any 8k H1 kits at the moment, so the link is for a 6k one. Might be worth sending the guy a message and seeing when hes getting more it ?
