how much should u pay to a garage to tighten it up cheers ,
i know can do it my self but realli cant b arsed all ready done cv joint and anti rol bars today and need car back asap as it failed mot and i aint got day off for while now so just easier to pay for it to b done
The easy way to tighten it up is to get yourself a deep socket 10 or 12 i think....:\
Take up the handbrake gaiter, then you will see a rubber cap, remove it. put your foot on the brake, let the handbrake off, bring it up 3 clicks, then tighten the nut.

to tighten the handbrake properly you should adjust rear shoes which in turn gives a better foot brake doin it the other way is making the brakes adjust on the cable which isnt good. me personally bein a mechanic would adjust it up on the rear brakes but its your choice

jack the car up take wheels of take hub nut cover of undo 27mm nut(i think its 27) then pull drum off give shoes and inner of drum a quick rub with sand paper ull see an adjuster in there give that a lil tweek put drum back on spin it to see if its binding once it feels ok fit hub nut torque up to 175nm refit grease cap fit wheel and repeat at other side once done pump pedal and check h.brake
i willprobs be adjusting my rear drums before i head over to the bristol meet... i think i will make a guide thingy to show/help people
