    you drive a 1.3 90 corsa D

weighs a bit more then the C and has more power then the C, but in saying that i got 400miles driving at 80mph in a full car on a long trip while my astra was at a stealership for a new gearbox..

But when driven sensibly i managed 140miles out a 1/4
If stupidity got me into this, it can get me out of this as wel!!!

I got 563 miles before the red light came on the other week... average cruising speed of 60mph... over 500 of those miles were on the motorway, the majority of the rest were dual carriage way on the way to the motorway...

I'm always getting above 50mpg though

My first tankful in the C gave me 52mpg (500miles), say 60% motorway driving. I think thats quite good considering I haven't driven a diesel before and was constantly off boost at 1000rpm having to floor it :S

    This tankful should be better...

Off boost is probabaly good for your MPG. Once the turbo kicks in your mpg goes all the way down

haha, i get like 400 a tank, but then my driving doesnt help, but its half and half between town driving and motorways.

Though i got 300miles to half a tank, though i was driving on motorways for all of that, except like 2miles with cruise control on.

True, but thats when cruising at one speed. I have heard that, say, trying to accelerate from <10mph in 3rd will 'freak out' (for want of a better word) the ECU and it will pump extra fuel in to stop the engine stalling.

well, making the engine labour will hurt mpg and probably do the engine no good period. That applies to any car and is just plain bad driving ,

keep it above 900rpm or so and it will be fine.

I know its bad for the engine, it's just that's I was inadvertently doing it while getting used to the car, stopped now though

Who gives a monkeys chuff? Get an Industrial Diesel engine, aka the Isuzu 1.7CDTi...

    Namby-Pamby 1.3 whats all that about? It's only 1248cc

Aslong as it gets you to sunday service on time It's all good in the hood?

    - But for all I know it could be 64.999999999999999mpg
