At no specific time or under any specific circumstances my immobiliser is kicking in, car starts runs for a few seconds and cuts out, then won't start afterwards. I have to get out the car lock it, wait for the immobiliser to reset about 15 minutes and get back in and starts fine. Fuel pumps are priming and everything.
Noticed I've been using the second key so now have both keys with me just incase it happens again.
Well it's the starter motor is turning over but the engine isn't starting, which is u believe what happens when the immobiliser is engaged( cuts fuel supply off)
That's not the immobiliser. Unless it's aftermarket.
Factory immobiliser allows the engine to run for a couple of seconds then cuts the ignition if it doesn't detect the right key, you also get a flashing warning light on the dash.
That could also be related to the crankshaft sensor being faulty
but the car cutting out and taking time to restart is definitely the clocks loose. Had the problem on my old C and sometimes you would drive and the clocks would drop to zero.
