some more pics of recent work on an Astra

STEALTH brought his Astra down to me last week for a quick wash and to have his wheels refurbished and protected, with a few other little bits and bobs.

Astra arrived looking a little bit sorry for itself! Wheels were very dull and dirty, in need of a refurbishment.

Car was then jacked up to remove wheels

nail in tyre

My spare set of wheels were put on the car

Centre caps striped down ready for painting

Whilst wheels were off, the rear callipers needed a touch of paint.

and the hubs got a lick of paint too

the car was also in for folding mirrors to be fitted, a new wiring loom to be made up in the doors, and to tidy up some existing wiring

putting the mirros covers on after fitting

With all the work done the car was then given a quick exterior wash

Snow foamed

agitating all the gaps

then rinsed off

two bucket method used

then rinsed

then dried

Car was then gone over with some AutoFinesse Finale giving it a nice shine

wheels back from powdercoaters in high gloss black

Wheels were then treated to Gtechniq C5, firstly they were wiped down with panel wipe to prep the surface

then C5 applied

then buffed

and ready to go on car

with the wheels back on the car some tyre shine was applied

Car was now finished and took outside ready for collection

in case your wondering what the blurs are all about, ive been sworn to secrecy on some of STEALTHS new mods over on AON so had to hide them from pictures. Sorry you'll have to wait until he updates his thread, but it will be worth it! Thanks for reading!

the passenger head light had some really deep scratches on them. This was caused by the customer peeling off the european headlight defelctro stickers and scrubbing the excess glue off with a scouring pad. This was removed by wet sanding and polishing removing all scratches and leaving a clear and fresh looking lens.

and after polishing

car was then taken indoors

glass was cleaned and prepped with IPA ready for aquapel

aquapel being applied

then buffed

paint was protected with collinate

being applied

and buffed

shuts were also waxed with collinte

out came the gtechniq box from the fridge

C5 applied to the wheels having just been wiped down with IPA

and the buffed

exterior plastic trims treated with auto finesse rejuvenate

interior needed cleaning after all the electrical work

firstly a good hoover

then sprayed liberally with GTechniq I1 on the fabric

all trims were cleaned with G101, brush and clothes.

rear seats removed to expose some hidden dirt

hoovered

seat cleaned with DR LEATHER

seats re installed all cleaned and protected

front seats received the same

interior glass treated with fog fight to stop condensation in winter

mats refitted after being wet vacuumed

under the bonnet the plastics were a little grubby

sprayed with G101 and agitated

after

C'mon be nice people, he is clearly very good at cleaning cars, I think the steps is a good idea personally because every time I detail my car I realise a couple of days later something I forgot, maybe that just means I'm crap at detailing haha
