i know this is probs irelivant as i dont no much about car engines, but on my old 2stroke engine off gopeds (i used to know them inside out) i fitted a bigbore kit consisting of new cylinder new piston etc... the piston was nocking against the cylinder at high revs as 1 of the cc clips had snapped. not sure if 4 strokes even have C clips? but if so could be something to do with the pistons?

but again *** knows if its relivent but i used to get a nasty nocking at high revs and that was the case!

Mine seems to do the same thing, its ok when u first start it when the idles just above 1000rpm then when it gets warmed up the engine has got a slight tappin. Then the idle seems really low around 700 rpm i dont know if this is right. Car is timing belt not chain so im guessin on takin it to an engine specialist or vauxhall.

i have the same problem, my car had a service on friday and they drained back the hydraulics on the tappets apparently! when i used to start my engine when it was cold it would make an awful grinding noise, this has caused it but it now taps like everyones description above, im guessing this doesnt mean theres a problem, just normal?

Hi, can any1 help.. I have recently bought a 2004 Corsa C SXi 1.2, and gess what, the Timing chain is making a load ticking noise like a diesel car once it warms up. I have contacted Vauxhall and they claim they have heard nothing about a recall on Timing chain and they say my car is not due a recall on timing chain, its had a recall on ABS.

I have been to my local Vauxhall and contacted the customer service helpline, both say its not due a recall.

Can i get it fixed under recall as its a common problem on these cars?, can my car get more damaged if i carry on driving it?

Thanks guys
