A Guide to Cleaning your Throttle Body

Dummys Guide:

How to clean your throttle body

1. Open drivers door and find release for bonnet…
2. Pull release lever and bonnet will make a pop sound..
3. Go to front of car and put fingers under bonnet and find the catch which is located just to the right of the centre line.
4. Pull bonnet up and place bonnet holder in place.
5. Take 2 steps back and crack knuckles to get yourself ready for the gruelling task ahead.
6. once knuckles are cracked take 2 steps forward and scratch head.



7. loosen off the metal circle thing till you can get the pipe off..
8. go have a cup of tea. So your brain can catch up and you can read the next step.
9. once you have finished your cup of tea return to car and undo the 2 bolt shaped screw things as I am holding up.



10. once they are off that round box thing will become loose..
11. move box thing out of the way so you have a clear view of the throttle body
12. if your throttle body looks like it does below put everything back 2getha.



13. if it doesn't look like the above then spray carb cleaner or wd40 into your throttle body and make sure its nice n silver..
14. do not worry if there is still ½ of the ocean in there, it will burn up within seconds of you turning on the engine.



15. follow this tutorial backwards to reassemble your air assembly.
16. go have another cuppa.

I can only guess that you had been drinking when you wrote this ..?
Have you considered how many enthusiastic young mechanics were looking for guidance when you wrote this??
Please nurture and respect people.
