This is a very basic but effective way of making your picture look awsome!

This is a request I did and thought why not make a tutorial :D

1) Get your picture you want to spice up...

2) Get a decent picture with a dramatic sky like so

3) Drag the car picture over the top of the sky one, and cut out the white sky area on the top layer (I used the pen tool but the rubber tool is easier and will work just fine)

4) Now the car picture should have a new, better looking sky. Next, hit Ctrl+L and play around with the levels to get the right darkness and shadows etc.

5) Lighting effects - This is a really good effect but first you need to merge all your layers into one. To do this click on the top layer, hold shift and click on the rest. After selecting all the layers right click and select merge layers.

6) To get a decent light effect you might need a couple of attempts (trial and error) just click Filter - Render - Lighting effects. (make sure the light is coming from the lighter part of the sky)

7) After you're happy with the lighting, make a copy of the layer (Right click and duplicate layers)

8) Now the first layer needs to be black & white. For anyone who doesn't know how to do this it's Image - Adjustments - Hue/Saturation and drag the middle bar to the bottom.

9) Now use the rubber tool to delete the car from the black and white layer (leaving you with a coloured car and black and white black ground)

10) For a final touch, click Filter - Sharpen to make the image a bit sharper then click on the brush tool make it huge/blured and add some shading around the edge

This is what mine came out like.
