I tried to switch the engine on, but the key didn't seem to connect properly as it turned all of the way round but the engine wouldn't turn on. But the lights came on and I can't turn them off. Can anyone advise please ? , as the battery may run out. it's a 05 corsa.

Hoping you’ve found a fox for it. Could be as simple as a wiring or electrical issue(fuse) . More complicated could be a worn starter motor or ignition issue.

the lights? All the dash lights came on or just the usually ones. If they stay on then disconnect and re connect the battery should turn them off short term

if you can jumpstart the car then it’s a battery issue if you can’t jumpstart the car at all andthe Ignition isn’t even cranking then I’d look at fuses
