Hi , I currently own a 2002 1.4 litre Corsa comfort. I used my diagnostic equipment after feeling the eps become harder on the right and softer on the left . I ran the diagnostic and it came back as fault code c1517-0. It’s something to do with the engine overheating active but I’m not sure . Could anyone suggest what I could be and how I could fix it ? Also I had the fault code 177 which was to do with fuel sensor , could anyone also help with that and tell me what I need to fix ? Thankyou
I'm not particularly handy, but I remember reading a few times that the steering feel you describe can be the torque sensor, but I also know that Marks152 has mentioned many times the UJ often needs tightening (I think this problem comes with a clunk, though) and that one's free so worth a look. I could well be completely wrong but you might not get a fault code reading from the EPS (thinking this because it's not necessary to be programmed in on a C, so the info coming back might be limited).
Other people like Marks, Liviu2004, z22se etc will be a lot handier than I on your other codes.
This video might be useful if I'm right about the torque sensor (I think I am) and, while you're in that area, might as well just check your joint is tight.
You're welcome and, if you have time, let us know if either or both sort out the power steering imbalance. Partly because other people search-term your issue and end up here - so a confirmed fix helps other people - but mostly because I'm hoping to score my first ever "diagnosed a solution correctly" post
Yeh will do I’ll try fix it on Sunday and get back to you then 😂
