Anyone know what type of bit I need to take this off? Tried a 14mm flat sided but and kept slipping. Is it just a female torx and if so what size? Thanks

Ended up being and E20 torx
Thanks for the size confirmation, its hard to tell if E18 or E20 when crusted with rust.

Anyone else taking their calipers off be warned this part is ridiculously no longer available from Vauxhall. I mean its not like you would want to remove your 15 year old brake discs would you?

Go careful and use heat.

The bolts can be replaced with off the shelf high tensile ones, there's nothing special about them.
Thanks. The originals are 26.6mm and, because I thought they were readily available, I didn't check yesterday if longer bolts would foul anything at the rear.

Should I lop the end off a 30mm or go short at 25mm ?

I would use 30mm with a washer. A 'form A' washer would give an effective length of 27.5mm, I would expect that to clear but I can't check as my setup is slightly different to stock.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but will these bolts be a M12 x 30 x 1.5mm we need to replace with?
Thanks
