Good afternoon,

I was wondering if you can help me with a quick advice. I have a 2005 Vauxhall Corsa C Energy Twinport 16V and some Castrol Magnatec Stop-Start SAE 5W-30 A5 and Comma SLC5L Super Red Ready to Use Antifreeze and Coolant from a Ford.

Not really the recommended fluids for the Vauxhall, still my I use them for toping-up or should I go exactly to recommended engine oil by manufacturer?

Thank you

I'm an oil nerd. The 5w/30 is a correct grade but C3 is the usual ACEA spec. A5 is a bit lower viscosity than C3 and more for very modern, tight tolerances engines (also longer service intervals, so it does stay in shape). I think it would be alright for topping up so long as you're not losing quite a high amount, but I'd not use it for a full change. The coolant/antifreeze should be completely ok to use.
