My Corsa 1.2 16v SXi is out of MOT since Dec 18th. The work that it needs, that I know of
, is to have the heat shield removed, new brake pads fitted. Then MOT.

Is it easy to remove the heat shield? It seems like a dog of a job. All the bolts are rusted away and it is just hanging seen here: Screenshot
. I'm somewhat disabled and it's not possible for me to be agile underneath a car these days.

This gives a very basic instruction and diagram

but there is a 2010 thread that, yes, they can be a pain to get off. It's one of those things (in my case, there are a lot of them) that the hours of knuckle rasping and swearing compared to the relatively quicker job done of it by people with ramps and oxy-acetylene makes me reach for my debit card. No need to pay dealership prices as indies will have no trouble doing the brute force and ignorance stuff on a car they'll have seen hundreds of times by now.
