Got my sub, amp and component speakers sorted now just looking for a double DIN head unit. Want one with a full screen, don't fancy one of the fold out ones.

Had this recommended to me and was set on buying it:

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/pioneer-avh-p3100dvd.html

But then I stumbled upon this:

http://www.chinavasion.com/product_...nch-highdef-car-dvd-player-with-gps-and-dvbt/

£200 for a double din headunit with GPS and TV sounds brilliant to me. But will the sound quality differ from the one above? Really not sure what to buy here. I'm looking to spend £200-£300.

Pioneer ftw. There is a reason why the other one is £100 less! I wouldn't personally go for that one though as I don't particularly like it!

the second one could be easier to break, slow reactions, dodgy screen, anyfink the second one seems to me the best for the price, but the first ones alot more better quality and will defiately last longer and will have better sound quality etc

Pioneer all the way.

I brought a cheap one before, had no real sub/amp settings, poor quality and that. Changed to a decent but basic Pioneer one, and I am soooo glad I did!

Which brand is "better/well-known"?

Would you buy a Sony Television Or a brand that you've never heard of?

The pioneer unit will have a muck higher build quality, a better looking menu system (the cheaper chinese ones usually look cartooney and tacky). The pioneer has a mosfet 50Wx4 output wich will far outweigh the others 45Wx4. The unbranded one will probably rattle, and be made of cheaper plastic, won't support as many formats, skip a lot. You don't get much better than pioneer.

It's like buying a LCD tv would you get a technic one from tesco, or a sony/samsung/toshiba,panasonic one?

If you can save up more then I would pick this http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/jvc-kw-avx820.html or this http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/pioneer-avh-p4100dvd.html not much different in spec to the pioneer you picked out, but I prefer the look of them!

'User adjustable EQ: Bass, Treble, Balance, and Fade'

That's whats available in the second option. Think I'll go with the Pioneer one though.
go pioneer, the other one will have just that. those 4 things.

a pioneer will have full eq settings across ranges, and it will also have seperate subwoofer level control. better SQ and will be compatible with steering wheel controls. so yeh.. pioneer.

You need to buy a remote lead for the unit manufacturer and patch lead for the vehicle if you want to use the steering wheel controld to change tracks etc!

Just to add more confusion there is another JVC unit that is slightly cheaper, it supports slightly less video formats (which probably won't be a problem), and doesn't have the bluetooth connectivity like the other JVC one does. They will both play videos as well as music from your ipod/iphone.

They will be autoleads, think there are some on ebay, just make sure you get the canbus one for your car, and you may also need a canbus lead for the headunit, i'm not quite sure on that as mine is preface, and so is iso not canbus! you could also ask in halfrauds.
