I am thinking bout upgrading to a 1.8 corsa but not sure yet... So anyone wanting to swap there 1.8 for my 1.4 drop me a message

here are the mods im thinking ofgetting what would they be like on a 1.4 or what would they be like on a 1.8

Engine Modifications 4-1 Exhaust Manifold with Sports Cat
EDS piggyback management /with raised limiter up to 7.5krpm
dBilas Flowtec inlet manifold
dBilas Flowmaster air box (with specialised K&N panel filter)
dBilas metal air scoop fitted in Steinmetz grille.

go for it tbh, if you have the money and its what you want to do the do it, your going to get people telling you not to bother because its only 1.4 but too hell with them lol

Wow, your car would sound pretty tasty after all of that! hah, but i think the Inlet manifold mentioned is around 20bhp gain on its own so you may be looking at around 130horse with all the other mods..but its not all about power to make a car fast and feel excellent, with the mods you've mentioned throttle response will be greatly improved and many other key parts of the driving experience as it will remove all the manufactures restrictors that make the car easy to drive for retards hah :doublethumbs:

I think piper may be doing them now?? maybe simply re-profiling your standard ones..but they just make the engine breathe far better its what pushes the valves up and down on the top of the engine, they are the components that can give up with high revving so people replace them for bullet proof engines..aggresive cams let much more fuel into the engine and help gas escape so its good all round, they can make the engine very high revving aswell!!

I can't see the point of doing anything to the 1.4. Even with all those mods you'll be lucky to keep up with a 1.8, it will cost you way more money, you'll have way less torque and by the time you've told your insurance company that will cost you more too.

People might say be different, but why would you spend 2k making a slow car not very much faster when you can easily just by a faster one in the first place?

It might be different but you'll be pretty annoyed when everything is still able to make mince meat out of you after spending so much.

mathills 1.4 has 3 or 4k's worth of engine mods and isnt even of equal power when compared with a 1.8. So i doubt very much your looking at 130bhp from those mods tbh mate

I was just wondering I know putting it on a 1.8 would be more wise just when looking at all this it was the same gains for the 1.4 as a 1.8 I know the 1.8 would still be quicker but my 1.4 isn't far off the speed of a 1.8 think I'm only 20 bhp behind ATM... But I am considering sellig the car or swapping it for a 1.8 and doing the mods but the main point of the question was I'm tryin to find out roughly how much it's all going to cost and no ones told me this everyone keeps saying peope will tell you not to skit but do it it's not worth it... Etc I know doing all this to a 1.8 will be better than doing it all to a 1.4 just the engine size difference is pretty self explainitry but the whole point of the post was to see costs and if there was anything else i'd have to do to the car if I did the mods I'm think like who ever said bout the cams I didnt know that so that obv will also have to be done and increases the overal cost of the engine mods... Hence y I'm asking...

My car currently running 110bhp without these mods so by adding these mods I'll surely get around 130... But the whole point of this thread again is to work out if it's worth doing it tithe 1.4 as corect me if I'm wrong but 1.8 standard is about 120 bhp? So by putting these mods on I'll be over the standard 1.8 but then what I'm asking is if I out these mods on a 1.8 what sort bhp would I be looking would be I. The region of about 150+?

matt hills is about the same as a 1.8 106 bhp atw. give or take plus weight difference and gear ratios.

Why not just a remap instead of piggyback management?

If you want alot of performance from the engine im guessing you will be thinking about track use, so id think about stiffening up the ride, a good set of coilovers?? strutbraces and anto roll bars, new brakes etc.

Thats if you want a good handling car. If its just pub figures your after just do what you have mentioned

Hmm does sound intresteding can I not get the ESA piggyback management and remap it as well? I honestly don't know overly that much about engine mods it's a grey area for me...

yeah, i dont know the details about it tbh but i wouldnt put piggyback on with those mods. There are ppl on here who can say if its worth having pggy back though.

Id just get a good live road remap
