Hello, have you got the Tigra A, not the Tigra B (also called Twintop)?

It sounds like the Tigra A, if you are correct about the x14xe engine, because the B had either the z14xep or else the 1.8

The Tigra A is based on the Corsa B, which has a lot of differences to the Corsa C so it might be an unknown swap on this forum. However, it appears that the swap is straightforward - you can use your gearbox etc - you need the donor car's ECU, transponder and key

How old is your car? the Tigra B (based on the Corsa C) came in to sale in 2004, before that it was the Tigra A simple way to tell is if yours has the twin top folding roof its a Tigra B.
Some countries use different engines to here in the UK on the newer cars, engines that were fitted to the older ones.
But in simple terms yes you can fit a bigger engine to pretty much any car and if that car like the Tigra had bigger engines then it is all very simple.
Some of the Corsa B groups will give more advise on which engines etc. A lot will say to fit the 20XE or C20LET in the Tigra A.
Easiest way is to get a donner car that has a good engine and swap the running gear over. bigger engines quite often have different ratio gear sets and bigger front brakes. but the X14/X16 share the same blocks so its very easy to swap between them. Just keep the correct ECU set for the engine.

Mine is a 1995 tigra meaning it's a tigra A and not the tigra B

If you are looking for the cheapest route, then another x14xe or x16xe (whichever is easiest or cheapest to get in Lesotho) is the most straightforward. The 1.6 8v does not increase power much and your current gearbox and suspension, brakes etc will not be overstressed. If you take the opportunity to put a lot more grunt in, then you ought to upgrade other components to deal with that safely.
