Hi,

I’ve got little specs of something in my expansion tank, I do notice the water sits low.

Almost like the tide, it goes out and comes back in which is strange.

What do you think guys?

engine? if it is diesel it looks like the oil exchanger water is starting to filter, if it is gasoline it paints to cylinder head, or diesel also

Is the coolant dropping at all? Are you noticing rapid changes in running temp of the engine? Is there anything like oily deposits floating in the coolant of the header tank?
If no then don't worry its just many years of general crud build up which is normal, more so if the coolant hasn't been flushed to service intervals and the correct type of coolant used. With the car being at least 16 years old now that coolant looks quite clean still.

I had a similar situation happen last month the coolant tank was the same colour. Although I did have the head gasket go on it. Albeit caused by a sized thermostat which also melted the piston.

Thermostat replacement and radiator pressure test, please add 3l antifreeze, ph between 7.1 and 8.4
