cable £20, 30 mins to 1 hour labour. + VAT about £80 - £100

Its quite a fiddily job, but def a candidate for DIY Imo

So if they quote more than 100 then I should tell them to stuff off?

They are replacing both I think as he said the offside one is seriously close to snapping and the nearside is well on its way too

Well iirc, it's one cable that splits into two. So they have to replace the whole thing.
Actually that's a complete guess based on older vauxhalls, might be different in the modern times.

£15 to you?

or £15 to them...and then they have to add on an extra bit which is why i said £20. When i did the cable on my old astra is was £15 but from a local supplier who is good with his prices.

Well I'm off to pick up the car in 10 mins so I'll report back on the price for people searching in the future lol.

Good thing I always book my MOT tests for 4-5 days before my old one runs out

mine failed on this as well but both sides.

its in on wednesday to be done. £80ish i think it's going to cost from what the mechanic said.

mine failed on nearside, vxl wanted bout 140 to do it, so i played the extended warrenty card:D so got them for free just a shame they didnt retest the car so id been driving bout 6 weeks after before finding out they hadnt retested it
