Problems Reprogramming Easytronic With Opcom

We had a thread recently on the Easytronic. More to do with the actuator, but it had a happy ending and the OP would be worth a PM. Maddeningly, I haven't found it. I chipped in and Marks152 (much more usefully). If a search of recents doesn't work for you, I wonder if Mark remembers the OP? A PM will flag up in email, which is more likely to catch attention. If nothing else, I've "bumped" it up to catch the eye of others, hopefully.

Hmm. I thought that would be it; I've seen it be the magic solver a couple of times on the 'net. Darned well going to look for that recent thread that ran here, tomorrow. IIRC, he held onto most of his electronics that seemed ok to simplify the process but he got it up and running. It would be useful if I can dig out his ID to PM him, even if his issues were not the same as yours. Actually having handled the Easytronic certainly gives him the advantage over me; I've only read around it and Renault's Quickshift (same system)

Luggy was the recent poster, back in August. Have a read through, Jimmy and consider dropping a PM (flags up in the email). He might have a useful suggn even if his fix was a different issue to yours.

Very welcome; it was bugging me that I couldn't find it but the simple forum search goes most recent by default, so it didn't take me too long. Luggy was happy to get PMs, so I'm hopeful you can swap ops/exps. Also, there is the VxON forum and even possibly Renault forum. The Quickshift is basically the same thing although they'll have no idea what Opcom does. Possibly something I linked might in some abstract way help. Great if you could update; apart from loving a happy ending, reading a thread with a dead end can be a bit deflating for other passers-by with a problem. I like the idea of the Quickshift/Easytronic in principle but, like VAG's DSG, the probs and the "no idea" responses have probably scrapped a few decent cars in the past, unfortunately.

As you probably read (and understood better than I, having one in front of you) I think Luggy cannibaled his old TCU (my memory might be wrong) to side-step these probs so he might not have the answer you need. There is another thread (Marvelousmousemarv89) just starting that sounds (to me) like the SA is playing up. Hopefully, one person's progress opens up another's...

Also glad to hear of your success, Eddie, although I empathize with your frustration. I've had the all-clear three times with my AC, only to be out-of-pocket and suffering Betty Swollocks within days. Not the same level of awkwardness, I know, but I can x10 and imagine your suffering. If it's any consolation, you and others on this forum must make it the best resource available for fixing, as many have probably binned their Easychronic or Quickshi(f)t box while they still had hair left.

This is just a headsup for you S-A owners. A result of my nightly searches for all things and I have nothing to do with the seller but an easytronic with a 99p start might be interesting to someone:

The darn nuisance is that I'd ordinarily be happy to go down to Stoke on anyone's behalf but I'm in Spain until mid-May. Still, if that's of any use if a forum member contacts the seller, let me know.

Welcome to ccuk. Because this is >1yr since the last post, and eddie was not the originator of the thread, he might not see your post. I suggest that you copy what you have written and send it to him as a private message. He will then receive an email telling him that there is a PM. Normally, I would suggest you start a new thread but the contributors on this one are your best source of information on the Easychronic gearbox.
