My 2005 stopped running & everything points to the pump, so I bought a new pump, Ive cleaned the sticking float sender & found the rubber pipe from the sender tank to the regulator is hanging by a thread.

Im twitchy about replacing the hose with an off the shelf Halfords part, so Im looking for recommendations for a supplier of a hose that is submersible & rated to E15 & beyond (E100?)

I would put the same one but something longer, so that it has a bit of play and is not so tight, put if you want a pair of hot melt tape so that it does not inche with the years, the same braiding that that one had, and to spend other years how has that one without giving problems

Thanks, It had plenty of play, but the rubber had turned to jelly, spoke to a mechanic/mot friend & its become quite common it seems, hence looking for higher spec part

I would not look for much, look at the heating fuel pipes, which are diesel, and ask for a section, but what are we going to do, if I last 15 years of life, I don't think you will get any better

I would look towards a company that does Marine ' boat ship hoses ' surely they must be waterproof specification and or maybe hose for external fuel pumps or generators .
I think probably Marine hose should be a good specification as it has to hold up to salt water and probably more extreme temperature ranges
I will Skype my Uncle and ask him as he runs a boat out of Scarborough area so may have an idea and he just put a new engine in this year

Good news is that is the return fuel hose from the regulator so the car will still run with out it while you find a replacement hose.

Try a local hydraulic hose specialists a many also stock fuel lines. You will probably have to get a meter of it though. Also get some new jubilee clips or pinch clips.

Is this the first casualty of the E10 fuel i wonder?? I have worked on 2001 Corsa C's and not seen a fuel hose do this yet.

I've ordered some fuel line it's R9 spec, so should be good to 100% ethanol. 1m will do both pipes & the spare will be there for the Meriva. I have the clips ready to go.

Didn't want the hassle of having to re do the work if a lesser grade pipe were to go again + the cost of the pump, so the pump & pipes will now be race spec 😂

I hadn't noticed but the diameter of the swirl pot nozzle is greater than the other nozzles on the tank & fuel pump, I could only manage half way, so if you try this in the future, try & find something to flare the pipe first

job quality
it has the full width of the clip sitting on rubber & fully behind the gland, but yes I lost the will to live after hours - but I asked two mechanics who both said cut the inside of the pipe as far in as I can, past the braiding to reduce the resistance & make it easier to slip on - the professional way is to make it weaker!
