Corsa c 1.0 2004. If have heating on in car and stud at lights heater goes cold with fans on. Just blows cold or cooler. Start moving along and heat comes back even at 20mph. Windy day and can feel wind blowing though vents heater is hot. Just not when you have fans on. Any ideas. Checked temperature in pipes into heater core are same on in and out sides. Normal holds at around 88c.

I would suspect a blocked heater matrix, remove pipes and flush it through both way with a garden hose until it runs clear.

Hi thanks checked that. It’s like the fan is after the heater core. I can hear the flap moving. Dose it have a servo or something to close off cold air? Pipes free and can feel the heat on the casing at back of console but just blows cold air till you start moving then it’s hot air. It’s like a vacuum leak or a something only goes into place when you driving?

Its all done with cables.
Is the fan working on all 4 speeds?
Yeah fan working on all 4 settings. Must be something fell in the vent or leaves or something in there. Think going to have to get a camera down vents and have a look. ?

The centre ones pop out easy and you could use a bore scope down there. Doesn't take long to get the whole assembly out it you don't have A/C it can be on a bench in 2 hours stripped down.

Just had thermostat out and it’s bent. Inertial part that covers the hole inside. Ordered a new one. Never noticed it before last time I took it out. Well really did not even look at it. Lol could this be to the heater core? Has a spring and plate that looks like it covers the hole. Other end is in the housing case that looks like a normal thermostat. Have new thermostat ordered should be here tomorrow.

If the thermostat is damaged the car will not be getting up to full temperature and staying there.
It could be what's causing your fault but the temp usually goes down when you drive if they are stuck open.

Will see just put new one in. Checked it parked up and has a lot of heat even on number 4 so will see how it goes. New one had to push down on it and line up. Old one had no pressure on it when it was unbolted. So don’t think it was sealing fully. Will see how it goes.
