Just as a quick one, how much hassle is it to upgrade TB3 on the corsa (z14XEP lump). Had the haynes manual out and it sounds like a bit of a ball ache or is it just the haynes manual makin it sound worse than it is??

:lol: Never though this thread would cause so much confusion. TB3 refers to The Big 3 cables in the battery charging circuit (Alternator earth, battery earth and alternator to battery).

So has anyone on here actually upgraded them??

Silly question, but is there actually TB3 on the corsa? I had a look through the wiring diagrams in the haynes manual and it looks like the alternator is connected + to battery + and - to battery -, with a third wire coming off and going to the starter circuit via the body control module.

Can anyone confirm this??

Hi Neil, you leave the stock cabling in place especially for the alt - bat as, as you said, it goes via the starter...

You want to add the following;

Battery to chassis
Engine to chassis
Alt to battery

When you do the earth points to chassis do you use the existing ones or create new earth points ?

ultimatewhistler, depends on the engine bay really...there is nothing wrong with using the old points, just make sure you clean them up properly and go down to bare metal

Neil, you can use 4g as the wiring on the Corsa's are pretty thick already...obviously if its a massive system like 2krms etc, then 0g all the way...for anything else, 4g will be fine
