been running 10w40 in my chain rattlers for the last 19 years. never had a problem.
As said just change it regularly 5000 miles.
5w30 fully and 10w40 semi are both listed in hand book, on the 2.2's 5w30 was only recommended for high annual mileages 20,000 + a year for longer drain intervals of 10,000 miles over 5,000 miles with 10w40 both ever 6 months or which ever comes first.
even ran 15w40 and 20w50 in the 1.2's before as it was free :lol:

20w50, that's going back a bit to when I was younger, and engines lasted forever

make me wounder why they lasted longer on the heavier oils and not so on the lighter oils :dontknow:
