I've been having problems shifting the car into second since I got it (51 plate Corsa 1.0), and having read around I thought "Ah, the plastic bit of the shifter is knackered, easy fix.". Nah, the whole assembly wobbles like Peter Kaye on a trampoline!! The question is this: Is it cheaper to rebuild the old one, or buy a complete new assembly?
Thanks in advance.

You can get any combination on a certain well known auction site:
  • full mechanisms e.g. Link 1
  • the metal replacement for the plastic link: Link 2
  • a rebuild kit: Link 3
Please obviously check those are right for your specific car.

On my 2006 1.2 all I needed was the metal bar which was a pain to fit but was so much better after
