morning all.

just a quick question really, does anyone know what the diffrence is between the engine mounts from the corsa c 1.8 z18xe to the 2.2 z22se engine.

the resion i ask is im very tempted with the idea of a 2.2 but wondered if the engine mounts are the same. as i have been offered a 2.2 z22se engine. and i was wondering if i could just run the 1.8 drive shafts too, and what gear box.

thanks ben

im guessing it wouldnt be too difficult

speak to courtenay as they do it anyway

but all that hastle and only 150bhp?
most vx220s are rr'd at less than that standard:eek:

yeah it is some thing diffrent which is what i like but im trying to avoid going for the turbo route as i will looking at running cams with verner pullys, throtle bodys which would be perfect as the inlet is at the front of the engine :D, and alot more.

so i would be looking at running a very safe 230 bhp maybe more.

always wondered why no ones done this conversion yet, seems a good one to me. 150bhp standard (same as a 2.0ltr redtop) and a hell of alot of tuning potential.

this plus the charger kit in a corsa would be fooking immense!

2.2 are ally blocks as well nice and light, don't think there's any weight difference between them and the 1.8s mounts and shafts I recon will either have to be custom or you could be lucky with the 2.2 shafts as the astra and Corsa wideness isnt that different

i've had a look on epc and this is what i've found

front mount same as z20let
right mount same as z18xe astra g
left hydro mount same as z20let
rear mount same as z20let and z18xe.

these are all for astra g.

the z22se is a very capable engine in standard and will go from 0-60 in around 8 seconds which is only a second slower than a standard z20let, but watch out for early engine from 2001 and 2002 as these suffered from doggy tensioners unless your getting it fully rebuilt

hard to see 230bhp i would of fort

and are not as light as you would of think, cylinder head ways enough!

will be a very tight squeeze too, not much room in a vectra

ideas nice, but id think about a v6 over a 2.2
yeah true true, might have to follow you down the route on a highly tuned 1.8. cant wait to see yours on the road and going

courtenay sport do a range of tuning options and 245bhp is capable. they start with air box mods with a 10 bhp gain. there not cheap to tune but are alot quicker than people think.
