could be alternater, low battery voltage or maybe your plugs need changing, thats most obvious things to check first.

 

ok thanks, ill get the battery tested, how do u kno if the plugs need changing? and how much should it cost? had them changed last when it was serviced back in december.

 

should change plugs every 30k miles, there only £2 or £3 from vaux. Yours should be ok then, check the battery voltage and theres several tests for an alternater.

 

could be a bad earth check all connections.

 

the possabilitys are endless what it could be really mate from a weak petrol pump to the crack senser, take it to vauxhall and get them to plug it up.

 

mine does that sometimes, when i got it serviced the blokie mentioned it and said that its the 'barrell' where you put your key in, that might be wearing out. its abit of an expensive job i think.

 

Hmm that sounds really dodgy - I heard of a couple of cases (one Corsa and one Zafira) where the ignition lock barrel over time has worn and keeps the starter motor running and burned out the starter motor.

if its turning over the times that it wont start then it sounds like it could be an imobiliser problem, can u hear the fuel pump kick in when you turn the key to the first position?

 

Dont worry my brand new corsa sometimes takes a 4-5 seconds of the key turned rather than 2-3

 

dont think he is talking bout seconds, its times he tried it!

 

Mine does it now and again. If its the altenator or starter motor let me know. My Dads business sell them.

it might be the igniton ring... we have had alot of problems on these on the classic -70's

 

Ive got this too, it starts first time but cuts out after about a sec, i then wait a few seconds then i start it 2nd time and it works. I just make sure my foot is on the accelerator to keep the revs up,.

i just go flat on the clutch, and tap the throttle a little, and it starts first time

 

Could be a "this happens on every corsa" issue too. Its happened on all my mates and previous corsa b's ive owned, its like the corsa back seats, they are notorious for being a pain in the ass and not clicking back in2 place

 

Mines been fine in 3 years I had it.

 

Going off topic but today when i removed my key from the barrell my stereo which is sync to switch off when that happens didnt switch off, so when i tried to put the key into the ignition something inside was stopping it from going in, but eventually it went it, just wondering if i have done any damage to it as its the first time its happened to me
