I understand you can get these engines brand new from vaux, would this come with everything needed to put into an Sxi? also how much roughly?

I was also looking at courtenay and they charge £6500 for a drive in-drive out conversion for this engine, but could this be done cheaper and how much would a normal garage charge to fit this engine?

i want to get some 288mm discs/calipers next, then suspension then save up for the conversion, i want the perfect sleeper and im fed up of BMW drivers etc thinking im just a little boy racer in a corsa!!! just because i have alloys!

By the way i have searched!!

Thanks a lot
Matty!!

about 6 k iirc... someone else looked into it..

but if your prepared to do a lot of it yourelf you could do it for nearer 3k

hmmmm £6k is still a lot of money...but id rather do that than get a car everyone actually knows is fast!

thanks joe!

;)

do it ... pay attention when they fit it and then you can fit mine

regal said to me 6k all in but they need the car for 2 weeks, don't really think theres any point in doing it because if you sell your c and put it with the 6k you could go buy a good astra coupe turbo with the same engine in and the car was built to take the power.

Thats exactly my point though guys.....

nobody expects an innocent looking corsa to have a 200bhp 2.0 Turbo! whereas if you have a Gsi with Turbo written all over it its obvious its a quick car...its all about the sleeper look that i want!!!
;)

I think ill phone some garages and start saving! then have it done when im 20/21 as im 19 next month. in the mean time ill upgrade the brakes etc ready for it.

good luck with it if you decide to do it. hope you do cos you hear of so many folk sayin im gonna do this an that an dont actually do it, but you have the right idea from wot your sayin. get the car cornerin an stoppin better then get some power in there.

an keep it standard lookin for extra effect when you blow somethin bigger away!

in a hatch like the corsa its probabyl better not to go goo high (bhp wise )

200 bhp is more than enough to blow away most cars considering the weight of the corsa compared ot the gsi etc

;)

The only mods ive done so far are de-badged/colour coded boot handle and 17" reflexes, then its exhaust and grill then nothing else!

was looking at regals Z20LET tuning packages and i think its so much cheaper/easier/better to leave the engine standard, 200bhp as said above is more than enough to beat most cars.

from vxl bare engine no ancilliaries is 2500 then you got an ecu buy driveshafts engine mounts starter motor alternator etc etc..... try a scrap yard or ebay, and pay about 1800 for a full lot!, but for 2500 id rather just put a 1.8 in it from regal or courteney then add a dbilas turbo kit, look in this months TOTAL VXL, a 2litre turbo just spins the wheels especially if you have done the upgrades, only good for motorway storming then, not good for 0-60 at all, 1.8 is an amazing engine and tuneable, with no turbo you can get upto 200bhp with different mods like sport cat bastuck exhaust, dbilas air intake chip, filter cams

So your saying regal/courtenay will supply and fit a 1.8 for £2500?

i researched into this loads m8, as uve already said courtenay wanted £6,500 all in, i got an insurance quote with tesco with all mods and 200bhp conversion at 20 with 2ncb and was quoted £1800....not bad imo, but at the end of the day, i cudn't get the loan  so my car is currently for sale and im after an Ibiza 1.8 20vT 150bhp, and a remap to 207bhp :D that'll do me.
