tbh, if your gunna mod it, you better tell your insurance, and that will go up and prob be asmuch as a standard 1.8 insurance

 

tell them about the exhaust yh but i wouldnt bother with the remap or the cams

Strip out the rear seats and spare wheel. Then change your wheels for lightweight ones and that will make it quite abit quicker :yippe:

proper cold air feed with closed induction and a map to make all them work better should see a little gain from alot of money ask matthill hes got a tuned 1.4

 

These are your options:

1. 4-2-1 sport cat manifold straight thru exhaust system. Good cold air feed - veccy c intake. Reprofiled cams and then get a remap to suit the low down torque that the exhaust manifold will give you.

2. Lightweight wheels, strip backseats out and anything else that can be spared. Good cold air intake, lightened flywheel and remap.

Tbh i'd probably go with weight reduction and lightweight wheels as this will make the car 'quicker' in acceleration. Cold air intake is essential for efficiency of the engine, more efficiency = better power output.

I was quoted £450 for a stainless steel custom 4-2-1 de-cat manifold for my 1.8 and was told it would give me about 7bhp out of a standard engine
