usual suspect is main plug on back of dash, make sure its clean, electrical contact cleaner on pins would be worth doing and check its pushed on firm so has good connection, or could be speedo pod on the dash pcb but thats unusual, as you have changed sensor doubt its that.

 

Ahh okay will give a try tomoro and see if it fixes it

 

had a look at the back of the speedo and the connector on the dash, cleaned both and reconnected them and its still not working
guess it must be the speedo pcb then? how can i fix that?

 

?do i need to buy a new speedo?

 

strip down the dash and check the needle is moving ok, I can send you a speedo pod its a bit fiddly to unsolder and resolder but can be done as I did my fuel one ok, you sure the sensor is a good one and connected ok.

 

What I find strange is if I connect my opcom I can make the speedo needle go up and down :S any ideas?

 

doubt its the pod then, not getting signal for some reason, double check the sensor and I will have a chat to my sparky friend.

 

i blew my front speakers a while ago and it blew all the fuses for the instruments but ive replaced them all now and that didnt work

did you try another sensor ? just incase the new one was faulty.

 

had a chat with my mate the nsf abs sensor gives signal to speedo is this the one you replaced?

 

i replaced the abs sensor on the passenger side and it made no difference. i will check it again tomorrow. what fuses shall i check?

 

try another sensor , is the wire damaged, the bcm needs to receive signal then pass this on to speedo pod, not fuse related, maybe you have fault with bcm. --------- just found the sensor feeds to signal amplifier this has a 10a fuse protection also this all goes to pin 59 at ecu.

 

It happened when I blew my front speakers if that helps? How an I check if it's a fault with the bcm?

 

i had the same problem after i lowered my car. it was the abs sensor. had come loose and rubbed against the wheel and broken.

checked the sensor and replaced it and its still not working

 

can you do a continuity test between the sensor end of cable to the plug join shown in picture as there might be a internal break on a wire.
